Here it is, for those of you playing at home. This page is dedicated to passing on the latest news of our trusty Australs contingent as soon as it comes in. We will aim for daily updates wherever possible, and will definitely have the break results up here within minutes of the announcement. Be sure to check regularly to make sure you are up to date with what promises to be a fantastic display of MAD talent!!!

Finals Results!!!

Finals and Speaker Rankings!

Congratulations to Monash 1 who made it all the way through to the semi finals of Australs, where they unfortunately lost to Vic Wellington 1.

Also, congratulations to Monash 2 for their efforts in the finals. Unfortunately they lost in a 2-1 split.

Finally, a further round of applause must go to all members of Monash 1. Fiona ranked as 2nd best speaker, Amit as 3rd best, and Tim as 7th best. These are fantastic speaker rankings and they have really done MAD proud!

Australs '08!!!

Monash loses the bid

This afternoon the hosts for Australs 2008 were announced in Malaysia. Unfortunately, Monash lost the bid to Ateneo University, Manila.

I am sure that they will put on a great tournament for us next year.

Despite this result, a huge amount of thanks must go to the Australs Committee from Monash. Everyone involved did so much to try and secure the bid for us, and we are all so very proud of their efforts. This dedication from these members is a testament to the enthusiastic, positive attitude that MAD has for debating. Thanks again to the committee, and congratulations to Ateneo. Best of luck with the tournament!

THE BREAK!!!

MAD breaks 2 teams and 3 adjudicators!!!

The break has just been announced for this year's Australs. MAD had 2 teams break, and 3 adjudicators.

Congratulations to Monash 1, who broke 1st with 8 wins, Monash 2, breaking 2nd with 7 wins. Also, breaking as adjudicators for the finals were Tim Sonnreich (DCA), Jake Clifton and Julian Campbell!

All Monash teams have done a fantastic job so far, and we wish those progressing into the finals all the best on Sunday!!! As for those who didn't break, we are all still deeply proud of them for their efforts and hope that they can get behind those in the finals and support them through the remainder of this great tournament.

Second Installment!!!

Up to the end of Rd 5!!!

After a second day of debating MAD's results have remained top class.

M1(Amit, Tim and Fi) remain at top form, still yet to lose a debate. M2, M4, and M6 have each won 4 of their 5 debates, and M5 and M3 have won 3 and 1 debates respectively. This is great seeing as it looks like breakng will require at least 6 wins, so we are well on the way to breaking a few teams in what sounds like a great competition!

I don't think I need to emphasise just how remarkable these results are. It looks like being yet another great tournament for the MADdies.

First Installment!!!

The first day of debating!!!

We have just heard from a semi-reliable source (Mr. V Finkel) the results from Day 1...

So far we have 4 undefeated MAD teams, Monash 1, Monash 4, Monash 5 and Monash 6. This is an awesome result from the first 3 rounds of debating. Monash 2 also did really well with 2 wins and 1 loss. Unfortunately Monash 3 lost all 3 of their debates today.

This is a great effort by all MAD teams, and we are sure that this is the beginning of a great tournament for the whole group!!!
