The Monash Association of Debaters is one of the oldest student clubs at Monash University, and one of the most successful debating societies in the world. MAD regularly triumphs at the Australasian Intervarsity Debating Championships and remains one of only two societies to win the World Championships in consecutive years. On campus, MAD’s prominent role involves staging major public debates and running prestigious debating competitions. Our club is a forum for some of the brightest and most talented students at the university to discuss the most pressing policy concerns. Moreover, we are proud to have to have founded the world’s only academic journal on debating, the Monash Debating Review.
